Analisis kegagalan metakognitif siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematis

Abstrak

The purpose of this research is to explain metacognitive activities and metacognitive failures that arise in students when solving mathematical problems. The subjects of this study were students of SMK Yadika Jambi, the sample selection was carried out through a purposive sampling technique to select 1 student who could represent the population. The data collection technique was carried out through a test in the form of 1 HOTS description question and interviews to explore students' understanding of the answers that were done using an unstructured interview guide. The data analysis technique uses descriptive qualitative analysis and draws conclusions. The results of the study concluded that metacognitive failure occurred in students' metacognitive activities. Students' metacognitive failure is based on several indicators, namely metacognitive mirage which is a situation where students ignore useful strategies, changing calculations that are correct and rejecting the correct answer, metacognitive vandalism which is a situation where students apply conceptual structures inappropriately, and metacognitive blindness which is a situation where students ignore any calculation errors.
